An inventive and well-executed fashion idea, the Dries Van Noten Dipped Denim Pieces are garments that beg for a closer look. Denim jackets, pants and accessories were dipped in paint to create a two-tone effect on each piece.
With most of each piece being covered in paint, and only a small portion being left untouched, the technique invites people to ask questions and start up a conversation. Since the look is fairly subtle, but still noticeable, people are drawn to these clothes. You, of course, can answer people's questions by saying, "Actually, it's denim that is dipped in paint." The process seems almost too easy. I have a feeling that trying to do this on my own would end up in disaster.
The Dries Van Noten Dipped Denim Pieces are available from SOTO Berlin.
