The second edition of the ‘Dress Like A Man’ fashion project staged a surreal-real visionary runway show at the Fall Winter 2012 Pitti Uomo Fashion week in Florence, staging crocheted, layered and colorful textures and White Rabbit masks.
The ‘Dress Like A Man’ project is an initiative of world-famous fashion school Polimoda in Florence, Italy. The event explores the new dimensions of masculine elegance and tries to extend its boundaries to create a modern, yet classic collection.
Focused on the new generations of fashion designers, the second edition of the ‘Dress Like A Man’ project was developed by the undergraduate students of the Polimoda Fashion Design Masterclass under the guidance of Marc Ascoli.
According to French fashion designer Marc Ascoli —historic creative director of brands like Yohji Yamamoto, Jil Sander, Cerruti, Chloé, Hugo Boss and Martine Sitbon—his co-creation with the Polimoda designers resulted in “a game between real and surreal, between the real garment and the imagery. It evokes exuberance. It is filled with energy. A fanciful, dreamlike and visionary collection.”
