Compelling Presidential Caricatures

Drawing of President Obama Covers Latest New York Magazine

A President Obama drawing covers this week’s edition of New York Magazine courtesy of artist Craig Redman. Depicted in a minimalist, yet almost cartoonish design, Obama graces the cover after winning re-election last week over Mitt Romney. After his decisive victory, Obama is sure to pop up on countless magazine covers in the coming weeks. The last time Obama covered New York Magazine was January 30th alongside Mitt Romney in an issue titled "Bloodiest Campaign Ever."

The illustration features the Democrat in partisan blues with grey and black used for outlines and hair texture. Decidedly graphic in nature, this cover reflects Redman’s established aesthetic. New York Magazine (not to be confused with The New Yorker Magazine) is a bi-weekly publication found at select newsstands and online.
