The Doze Sleep Positioner Helps Disabled Children Grow During Sleep

— July 19, 2011 — Life-Stages
It is sad to think about all the ailments and handicaps many children (and, of course, adults) have to suffer through on a daily basis, and the Doze sleep positioner hopes to alleviate at least one of their troubles by assisting children while they sleep. It is essentially a sleeping pod that wraps around those dealing with muscle tension and loss of muscle tone, so they fall asleep in a position that will not impede their growth.

Designed by Lucia Hsieh in collaboration with Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children and Emily Carr University of Art + Design, the Doze sleep positioner specifically puts pressure on the spine to encourage a side sleeping position while opening airways to ensure proper breathing.
