MESA is a portable light that deviates from traditional lighting concepts by providing a flexible, downward-facing lamp that offers a direct source of light.
Unlike most light fixtures, MESA offers a streamlined lighting experience that's ideal for nearly any situation. Industrial designer Ravi Varma designed MESA as a personal project to find a better method of lighting than his lantern -- which shot light in all directions, blinding everyone at the table. The device is small enough to be thrown into the back of a truck in case of road-side emergencies or can be packed under a shelf for safe keeping until it is needed.
The direct light source has legs, allowing it to provide downward-facing light, without being hung from a ceiling, offering portability and flexibility.
