The Downtown Mexico Hotel brings together Mexican colonial style with a modern, industrial vibe. The boutique hotel juxtaposes old and new elements, adding to the reputation Mexico City has for being a center for modern and innovative architecture.

Designed by Cherem Serrano Arquitectos, the hotel incorporates basic materials like red bricks that form the sculptural dividers in the guest rooms. The exteriors have a unique detail: a grass wall crawls up the building, looking like an alternate pathway. A bicycle is fixed on the grass wall to look like you could easily walk up the wall, sit on the bike and go for a ride.

The Downtown Mexico Hotel's interiors are simple yet luxurious with glowing yellow lights that give the room a warm, comfortable atmosphere. The walls contrast with the furniture, separating the different elements of style and making the rooms look contemporary and practical.
