The 'Bedayat' Structure Was Built to Celebrate the First Saudi State

Saudi Arabia recently held a massive banquet and state dinner in order to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the First Saudi State back in 1727, with a gigantic dome structure being commissioned for the occasion. Dubbed 'Bedayat,' which means 'beginning' or 'inception,' the dome structure was made of steel and textiles, with the design including a large central ellipsis and a quadrant of arches.
Built top to bottom, the arches used a specialized structure that enabled them to embrace the wind rather than try to fight it off, with the ring and arches set in place without the use of computerized equipment.
The 'Bedayat' dome structure also included a 360-degree visual experience, with visitors treated to installations depicting the history and ambitions of Saudi Arabia.
Spearheaded by the Saudi Ministry of Sport, this dome structure is unique in that it was crafted for a single-evening event before being taken apart, with many of the materials set to be reused for future projects.
