Grid-Like Armchairs

The Doeloe Lounge Chair is Inspired by the Designer's Hometown

If you have traveled to Jakarta, Indonesia, before, perhaps the Doeloe Lounge Chair will look familiar to you. More specifically, however, you would have to be familiar with the Jakarta of the 1930s to 1980s since this chair was inspired by the design of “Oplet” public transportation vehicles in that era.

Designed by Abie Abdillah, the name of the Doeloe Lounge Chair means "a time that has passed," which is a fairly appropriate name, all things considered. Made out of rattan materials, these grid-like pieces of furniture are beautiful.
