The DIY fruit macarons are the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon with girlfriends. After brunch, of course. It is a delicious project that brings out the fruity characteristics of each French pastry in a way that still maintains their pretty aesthetic. In fact, the illustrations make them even prettier.

Created by Sugar and Cloth, a Texas-based blog founded by Ashley Burdette, the DIY fruit macarons would also make a great dish at parties or even a fun gift for a friend. Rather easy to make, that is if people have at least some illustration skills, all a person really needs are a set of food markers as well as pre-made icing leaves and chocolate sprinkles for the stems.
