There are many options for device stands on the market but many are impersonal and homogeneous. Spanish product designer Rafael Fernández seeks to change that by developing a product that not only satisfies a need but also contributes to the overall contemporary aesthetic of the home. Overcoming the line between sculpture and functionality, the creative creates Montelouro — a handcrafted ceramic object that holds the consumer's phone and tablet in place.
When comparing it to other device stands, Rafael Fernández reaches a distinct aesthetically driven edge that embraces modern design and traditional craftsmanship. Montelouro accommodates the physical specifications iPhones, iPads, Androids and the majority of digital tablets available on the tech market. This product is currently being funded on Kickstarter and its inspiration from nature is evident with reference to its landscape-like surface.
