The photographic works of Denis Budkov go hand-in-hand with his love of adventuring. Embarking on an expedition to the volcanic complex Plosky Tolbachik, which are located on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the far east of Russia. As though on a different planet completely (the images depict what people probably envision the surface of Mars to look like), Denis Budkov captures everything from thick white smoke to red skies and, of course, fiery grounds.
What makes Denis Budkov's images even more interesting is that he doesn't just focus on his surroundings, but the context of his team and the volcano they are exploring. In a way, Denis Budkov looks as though he were part of a special research group in a sci-fi flick.
