The Italian architecture firm DEMOGO has designed the 'New Fanton Bivouac,' a protective cabin located in the Italian Belluno Dolomites. Located 2667 meters above sea level, this structure offers a protective shell on the top of a mountain range.
The structure is made of fiberglass and bends with the natural slope of the mountain range, creating the impression that the structure will roll over the cliff. The structure offers a space where humans and connect with the natural environment safely. The cabin's interior is purposefully clad in wood to offer a contrasting space - one that is soft and warm - from the harsh exterior environment. The cabin's focal point is the large window, which provides an unobstructed view of the surrounding mountainscape.
