These decorative tiles were designed to perform two functions -- to act as unique home decor and to provide sound control for rooms and spaces.
The unique modular tiling system was designed in a collaboration between the Architecture Research Office and 'FilzFelt.' The system consists of modular acoustic tiles that come in different shapes, colors and patterns and can be organized as the designer wishes. The resulting decor is attractive and mounted on "10mm virgin PET acoustic substrate" -- ensuring that the sound quality in the room is optimized. The decorative tiles are also friendly to the environment, since they are made from leftover fabric that would have otherwise gone to waste.
This tiling system is evidence that relatively simple products can have multiple unique functions and purposes.
