The Date & Time Clock Combines Digital and Analog in a Playful Design

— December 11, 2013 — Art & Design
The Date & Time Clock is a wonderful little hybrid wall clock that delivers two forms of numerical display. Made with a big and bold blue square as a punchy backing, the chronometer gives you the calendar day and the hour in ways that are crisp and easy to read.

The left side of the geometric shape presents a digitally inspired pair of numerals that are composed of altering white panels behind fragmented windows. These have been designed and arranged so that they can express the numbers 1 through 31. Immediately to the right, a much more delicate set of indicators comprises a fine minute and hour hand. This is the portion of Yenwen Tseng's Date & Time Clock that references the progression of the pictured day on the left.
