Air Transat Adds Dakar and Reykjavik to its 2026 Summer Program

— November 15, 2025 — World
Dakar and Reykjavik headline Air Transat’s expanded 2026 summer program, which introduces new non-stop routes from Montreal to both destinations. The airline is also increasing service to Valencia, Spain, following the strong reception of the route since its launch in summer 2025.

According to Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat, the new Montreal–Dakar route responds to significant demand from the Senegalese diaspora in Quebec and from travelers interested in Senegal’s cultural and coastal offerings. As the only Canadian airline providing direct service to Sub-Saharan Africa, Air Transat aims to shorten travel times and eliminate the need for multi-stop European connections.

Service to Dakar will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from June 17 to October 21, 2026. Flights to Reykjavik will run from June 16 to September 27, 2026, with up to two weekly departures. The Montreal–Valencia route will also increase to twice weekly from June 16 to September 8, 2026.
