37-year-old design house Fiam Italia is committed to their cause of making large scale pieces of curved glass furniture, so much so that they have built their own machines and plants over the years to expertly produce their design visions. The designers, who include the legendary Philippe Starck, hope to change the way people feel about glass in the home.
Glass has been a tricky element in interior design. For many, it conjures memories of 80s style bachelor pads; for some, it seems too cold and uninviting, and others still see it as a nightmare to keep clean. But glass is eco-friendly and provides the illusion of space, so it’s becoming increasing popular as people downsize to smaller homes and apartments. These are fresh and unique designs for a new generation.
