CoffeeSock advertises that its cotton coffee filters "out-perform any comparable disposable and reusable filters." Cotton has proven that is more absorbent, creating a barrier for some of the oils released from coffee beans while permitting acids to pass through seamlessly. In addition, the material also has no impact on flavor.

CoffeeSock makes its product available in two styles: a Basket, made to fit Auto Drop Coffee Makers, and a Cone for drippers.
