Continuous AI Code Verification

Chainguard Checks Tests Code During AI Development

Chainguard is introducing continuous AI code verification through Chainguard Checks, a platform that allows developers and AI coding agents to validate software during development. Unlike traditional continuous integration systems that test submitted code, the engine performs checks within active coding sessions. Successful tests generate digitally signed records confirming the results, allowing approved code to move forward without repeating verification.

The platform uses preconfigured snapshots to reduce setup time and isolated microVMs, or lightweight virtual machines, to separate testing activities. Temporary credentials and restricted network connections provide additional protection against unauthorized access. Failed tests return structured feedback directly to coding agents, enabling immediate corrections.

For software companies, these capabilities could reduce computing expenses, accelerate development cycles, and strengthen security practices. Chainguard Checks, currently available in beta, also supports businesses adopting AI-assisted programming at scale.

In-session Code Validation
Real-time testing inside active development environments creates openings for software teams to reduce rework, shorten release timelines, and improve trust in AI-generated code.
Signed Verification Records
Cryptographically confirmed test results enable new governance models where approved code can advance through pipelines without redundant checks or manual review bottlenecks.
Secure Agentic Development
Isolated microVMs, temporary credentials, and restricted network access point to safer infrastructure for scaling autonomous coding agents across enterprise software workflows.

Sectors Adopting This

Software Development
AI-assisted programming platforms can differentiate through embedded verification layers that improve code quality while preserving developer speed.
Cybersecurity
Secure execution environments and signed validation artifacts expand opportunities for protection tools designed around machine-generated software and automated remediation.
Devops Platforms
Continuous integration providers face disruption from development-native verification systems that shift testing earlier into coding sessions and reduce repeated compute workloads.
