Israeli designer and carpenter Alan Dodo creates beautiful organic furniture by blending wood with contemporary materials like copper, steel and leather. This results in unique hand-made objects that are simply designed to allow the materials and techniques to speak for themselves.
Among the traditional methods Dodo employs in his woodworking techniques is wooden inlaying. This is a process where wood is stamped into cut outs of other wood, creating a variety of colors and designs in one object. Much of his work consists of large furniture like dining tables, dressers and bed frames, but he's also interested in smaller decor like modern lamps, clocks and mirrors.
These artisanal pieces follow current styles in home decor. They blend beautifully with each other but are also easy to mix and match with others since they are made from multiple contemporary materials.
