SK-II's Connected Store Revolutionizes the Process of Choosing

SK-II boasts a connected store in Tokyo that is determined to provide consumers with a one-of-a-kind experience that aids them in choosing the right product for their skin.

The experience harnesses artificial intelligence and technology to revolutionize the shopping ritual. Customers could interact with digital screens and establish a "unique dialogue" with them as the system "recommends beauty treatments based on [...] specific skin tones and types."

The pop-up experience was held back in June and consumers were greeted at the entrance of the connected store with a responsive piece of digital art -- one that "changed according to the facial expressions and body movements of the customer." On the second floor, consumers could go see their personalized skin analysis and advice from a digital screen that immediately recognized them.
