Drivetrain-Devoid Concept EBikes

This EBike Uses An Electronic Crankset Instead Of Chains

Cixi, a company based out of the French Alps that specializes in the innovation of active mobility and bicycle pedalling technologies that support active transportation as well as sustainability, has teamed up with compatriot company Cixi in order to launch an innovative concept ebike.

The 'Rover 45' is a concept ebike that makes use of Cixi's crankset mechanism, which works in place of bicycle chains that often suffer when used in high-performance ebikes. This particular crankset uses electronic technologies that include physical electronics and high-powered algorithms in order to control pedal resistance, which can be tweaked by riders.

By applying the crankset technology to a concept ebike, Cixi aimed to showcase its revolutionary solution in the context of Look Cycle's design expertise.

Unveiled to much fanfare at the 2023 Prodays cycling exhibition in the French capital of Paris, this concept ebike could herald a new era in powerful ebikes that leverage electronic crankset technology with stunning results.
