Ulanzi's 'TC001' is a compact Wi-Fi clock built around a 32 x 8 RGB LED matrix, featuring 256 chunky pixels that display time, date, and simple graphics. The display is bright and legible from across a room, small enough for a desk or kitchen bench, and includes an internal 4,400-mAh battery for brief untethered use.
Out of the box, it displays time, date, and weather, with adjustable auto and manual brightness, and offers a Pomodoro timer, stopwatch, and a red-versus-blue scoreboard. Users can upload text and custom pixel art, and Ulanzi points to downloadable display apps and community-created pixel art to expand the palette of animations and styles.
Under the skin, an ESP32 makes the TC001 hackable, and it can run AWTRIX or act as an endpoint for Home Assistant and MQTT. That lets the tiny matrix become a glanceable information panel and countdown display for timers or alerts, making it a handy building block for local smart-home projects and playful desk setups.
