This ingenious app lets users perform a color search in order to identify art pieces they've seen.

28-year-old Alexandra Chemla is the founder of ArtBinder, an app that allows galleries and artists to digitally catalog and display inventory. In developing the search tool for the app, Chemla realized that she is much more likely to remember the visual elements of an art piece than its name or artist. Thus she decided to incorporate a color search into the ArtBinder app.

Users seeking to locate a specific piece of art can perform a color search. They select colors from a palette like the one you would use to select a font color in a word processing program. For the range of colors selecte, the color search returns the closest matches from among the works inventoried on ArtBinder.
