In an effort to help streamline user experiences Yelp is implementing its new Collections AI feature that extends past browsing actions. By utilizing a mix of machine learning, computerized sorting and consumer-created curation, the new service hopes to better recommend restaurants, hotels and other services to users of Yelp. Those hoping to use the Collections AI feature will have a Collection automatically generated for them through Yelp's AI-generated option. The initial Collection will be fairly sparse, but as users continue to utilize Yelp, the AI will then introduce more recommendations based on activity.
The Collection AI feature is currently broken down into three categories: weekly user recommendations, suggestions published by Yelp and personal lists created by users. The feature will be available on Yelp mobile apps and its website.
