IFF installed a Colibri robot at its cross-category Scent and Taste production plant in Chin Bee, Singapore, and this industrial dosing system makes it possible to produce fragrance sample batches on demand in mere minutes. This smart-dosing robot is poised to revolutionize the way fragrance is produced by significantly speeding up the time needed between ideation and formulation.

This system has the capacity to handle multiple ingredients simultaneously, operates four times faster and amplifies automation. Now, 200 sample batches can be created in eight hours, as opposed to the previous 24 hours.

In the fast-moving fragrance category, and with consumer preferences shifting constantly, rapid development and launch cycles are essential to reducing time to market, meeting demand and maintaining relevance.
