For the sake of sustainability and being more resourceful, many brands are thinking of new ways to use industry by-products, as seen in the Coffee Fruit Bar. I Am Grounded's Coffee Fruit Bar makes the most of discarded coffee cherries and incorporates them into plant-based snack bars that are free from soy and gluten. The upcycled coffee fruit snacks are being developed in flavors like Espresso Tahini & Coffee Fruit, Cocoa & Coffee Fruit and Lemon Coconut & Coffee Fruit, each of which is set to be packaged in a home-compostable wrapper.
Spent coffee grounds, as well as the husks, peels and pulp from bean processing, are some of the other wasted resources that are being transformed into entirely new and useful products.
