The Ben Blake Draw Coffee Series Sees Art in an Everyday Place

According to Ben Blake's website, "Coffee inspires creativity. This is merely an overflow of that." What he's referring to is his project entitled 'Draw Coffee.' The website features Blake's experiences with coffee as he travels around the world. To commemorate each of his stops, the artist, who also works in development at a liberal arts college, doodles on a coffee filter. Blake considers each of these filters a visual representation of part of the narrative of his coffee journey.

Coffee has always been more than a drink. The first coffee houses in England provided space for business and innovation, and still today, coffee retains its association with creativity and art. These works of art are a representation of Ben Blake's relationship with coffee, but also serve as a conversation piece for the many coffee drinkers and coffee lovers all over the world.
