While it is designed for those who have chronic and life-threatening diseases, the shirt can be altered to monitor specific other bodily functions. At its base level the tee keeps tabs on heart and respiratory activity using sensors that are fitted into the fabric.

However, the sensors have the ability to be altered in both placement and monitoring capabilities to allow the patient to do their own checkups from home.
