World Vision released a fake infomercial featuring a child being sold into slavery in a campaign called 'Child for Sale.' The commercial has two hosts calmly selling children while talking about them like objects. At the end, the ad directs viewers to the World Vision website while stating that "Some things should never be for sale."
The campaign was developed by ad agency KBS+P Canada in order to raise awareness for the 1.2 million children that are sold as slaves every year. The 'Child for Sale' campaign was aired in Canada in order to solicit donations and to get Canadians to take action. A World Vision representative expressed that "We want Canadians to be aware of the issue and to do something about it."
