Chelan Fresh Removes Stems for Better Grab-and-Go Cherry Eating

This cherry cup design by Chelan Fresh emerged on the market as a convenient alternative to clamshells, pouches and bags. The appropriately named 'Cup o' Cherries' takes the form that's similar to a to-go coffee cup, complete with a lid.

What sets this packaging system apart is that by removing the stems from the individual cherries, Chelan Fresh remarks that it has been able to turn "cherry consumption from a two-handed experience into a one-handed, on-the-go experience." The one other big detail that was addressed has to do with the disposal of pits—the lid even contains a spot where these can be neatly discarded.

The portable cherry cup is being sold in the fresh sections of grocery stores, primarily where consumers are likely to pay for the additional convenience the premium product provides.
