Industrial designer and artist Chen Chen has a take on material art unlike any other. All of his works appear to be centered around abstract deconstruction, meaning he breaks down the elements of a given object and reassembles them in different forms to create a whole other object.
Such is the case with his 'Cold Cut Coasters' designed in collaboration with Kai Tsien-Williams. The artists tied various materials into log form, which they then cut into cross sections, resulting in the stunning masterpieces pictured here.
The 'Cold Cut Coasters' are one of many interesting abstract deconstruction projects that have emerged from Chen Chen's studio and are sure to spice up any kitchen or cocktail party with their colors and original flavor!
