CharitySub is a membership-based startup that offers members the opportunity to contribute to charities addressing countless pressing issues across the United States. For $5 a month, members have the option of three charities all working within the US to make progress within the realm of each new cause.
For every completed partnership with a not-for-profit, the Brooklyn-based startup releases an impact report detailing the efforts toward positive social change. Thus far in 2012, CharitySub has published impact reports on previous causes of Childhood Obesity, Hunger in America and Addressing the Literacy Gap.
CharitySub's method of "curated collective giving" is designed to provide a solution to hopeful philanthropists unsure of which of the 1.5 million U.S. non-profit organizations to support. Hoping to apply the model of successful curated e-commerce services like Fab.com to that of charitable donations, the startup also emphasizes its role in educating members on the monthly cause at hand, which often includes helpful infographics and statistics.
