The 'Charging Clip' Powers Your Phone by Leveraging Bikes

— August 1, 2013 — Art & Design
The 'Charging Clip' is a simple little gadget that harnesses your bike's energy to charge any USB-enabled device. Designed by Cheng-Kuei Fan, Hui-Chuan Ma and Yan-Jang Cheng, the clip's ingenious design gives you the power to keep your phone running even when you can't make it to an outlet.

The minuscule gadget simply clips onto a spoke on your bike to recharge. After you've ridden around for a while, you can remove the clip from your bike and use it as a spare power source. A large LCD display in the center of the device shows you how much power is available on the Charging Clip. A USB outlet lets you easily power devices like your phone.

Charging Clip is an entry in the 2013 Lite-On Awards.
