London-based freelance writer Louise Benson documented her trip to Iceland, in a series she titled 'Chance Encounters,' for Voyage D’etudes, an online collective where travel enthusiasts share their stories with other wanderlusting individuals.
Benson purchased a ticket to Reykjavik for her and her on-again-off-again boyfriend on a whim. The duo then embarked on an exciting road trip, touring some of Iceland's most secluded hot springs and pools. Benson photographed the awe-inspiring landscape, from colorful rooftops that dotted the harbor to the endless stretches of mossy rock.
Recounting the trip, Benson explains, "Iceland was a fantasy place to me, which embodied the most surreal, the most contrasting and the most difficult elements that I could imagine. I went there to see how true this really was, and to take photographs again.”
