With features like extreme shock resistance and waterproofing, Casio’s G-Shock series of watches have grown a rugged reputation that has remained popular among athletes and outdoor recreationalists alike. However, with the introduction of the G-Shock 2, Casio has added a number of new features that will likely attract attention from more tech-savvy demographics.
A truly modern timepiece, the G-Shock 2 is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 enabling it to connect to an iPhone. After downloading an app, users will be able to use the watch to see incoming caller information, toggle the phone’s vibrate mode and synchronize the time so that it matches the phone. Should you ever lose your phone, there’s even a remote alarm feature on the watch that can be activated to help you recover it.
The Casio G-Shock 2 will be hitting Japanese stores in October 2012 and will sell for about $240.
