Based on childhood memories, the red cape project is a cardboard installation that features shapes like cardboard wolves to set a scene. Largely based on Little Red Riding Hood, this sharp but whimsical project combines nostalgia with a futuristic aesthetic.
The building process was done by sketching the full scene, including little red riding hood, the three wolves and a crow, then making 3D models of each character for the next phase, cutting the cardboard into every single polygon.
The full set was done by laser cutting, then stapled together. Finally, the creators set the pieces on the outdoors as part of a local design festival. The end result is striking, but also familiar.
