The 'ADK26' Can Transform From Hatchet to Long-Handled Axe

Agawa Gear, a company based in the Canadian city of Mississauga, has developed a wonderfully innovative camping hatchet that is in fact also capable of functioning as a long-handle axe, helping to combine the best of both worlds in one intelligently designed product.
The 'ADK26' can be used as a hatchet with its existing handle, a 14-inch piece that is crafted out of glass fiber strengthened nylon. However, it can be used as an axe by slapping on a handle extension that increases its length to 26 inches, which allows for a bigger swing. Together, the two handle elements are linked by stainless steel clips that can handle pulling forces in excess of 680 kg.
Meanwhile, the device's head is made from ultra-durable carbon steel that is sheathed in black oxide to guard against rust, while the rear end of the head can be utilized much like a hammer.
Currently the subject of a crowdfunding campaign, this camping hatchet can be procured for a pledge of around $169.
