Call2Recycle Canada and Squamish, BC, Launch a Curbside Battery Program

Call2Recycle Canada has teamed up with the District of Squamish in British Columbia to offer accessible battery recycling solutions. This partnership aims to make it easier for residents to responsibly dispose of household batteries, whether single-use or rechargeable.

As part of their collaboration, Call2Recycle Canada and the District of Squamish are launching a series of battery recycling initiatives. These include introducing British Columbia’s inaugural curbside collection event dedicated to battery recycling, starting on June 3. During this initiative, Squamish residents can conveniently recycle their household batteries, with each collection event accommodating batteries weighing up to 5 kilograms.

Call2Recycle emphasizes the importance of proper battery disposal to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability. Used batteries will be transferred to GFL Environmental Inc. for sorting and further disposal.
