When Renovating These Structures, Sheet/RockLA Embraces the Mountains

— October 30, 2019 — Art & Design
These chic and contemporary Californian cabins are newly renovated. Set in the San Bernardino Mountains, or more specifically -- the small town of Big Bear, the structural update is initiated by architectural firm Sheet/RockLA. It, as well as landscape architecture firm Terremoto, are the ones who own the property.

The Californian cabins are near a ski resort and a lake. The exterior of the building is black and minimalist, ensuing notes of elegance. The interior appears to answer to modern sensibilities and to instill a cozy vibe. It is very evident that the architects drew inspiration from Scandinavian design for this project. In addition, while maintaining a more modern aesthetic course for the Californian cabins, Sheet/RockLA was also careful with preserving the historic significance of the dwellings.
