Talented fashion designer Maria Daranova did a butterfly fashion project for Muse Magazine Russia called ‘Butterfly breath.’ Over 150 butterflies guest starred in her project giving the masterpiece an eerily raw atmosphere.
Taking a spin on the “paper bag princess” concept, the model was wrapped in layers of newspaper as a dress. Butterflies, cobwebs, paint and candlelight gave the room a blue-ish hue that will give you goosebumps.
The model, Ekaterina Kolyskina, seems right at home in the paradisiacal environment amongst the little flying pieces of art. Her movement in the video is slow and subtle until the quick pattering of the butterflies. It evokes a sense that in this imagined world she is the reigning queen.
The photographs are in high contrast which gives every surface its own shadow—emphasizing lines and emotions. With beautiful take on butterfly fashion—the theme has been renewed in this soft and delicate show.
