Tension Cord Tables

This Coffee Table Design is Held Together by Tension Using a Bungee Cord

This clever coffee table design is held together with nothing more than a simple bungee cord.

The 'Bareppa' coffee table by British design studio Henry Swanzy is quick to assemble and uses nothing more than tension to keep its parts together. The table itself is made up of only five different components, which include three English oak table legs, a round glass top and a bungee cord hub. To assemble the table, simply place the top face down and slide the wooden legs onto the glass using pre-cut slots. Afterwords, just slide the cords over the legs to keep everything in place.

Using nothing more than tension, the table is able to sturdily hold itself and create a unique piece of home furniture you can pack away or assemble in a matter of minutes.
