Ben Thomas created these photographs that give cities a bright neon hue. Thomas has been known for his metropolitan photography, with collections that minimize cities and turn them upside down. This time however, he plays with colors and shadows to create pop art depictions of cities.
Once Thomas decides on a city to photograph, he attempts to find unique architecture with minimalistic features. Thomas also tries to find buildings or areas that he believes portray the city's personality. Much of his work however is done in the editing room. Thomas uses Lightroom and Photoshop to decrease shadows and plays with color balance and vibrancy to create these bright neon hues. Although simplistic, the process is quite complex and takes hours of experimentation before finding the perfect combination of color and depth.
