At this year's CES 2016, Griffin Technology is making a point to improve upon the design of Apple's MagSafe power connector with its BreakSafe Magnetic USB Type C Cable.
MagSafe technology means that a cable can easily be disconnected from a laptop, which is particularly important for when users accidentally trip over cords. While this is a feature that has the potential to save hundreds of dollars in laptop repairs, Griffin Technology noted that it's no longer useful with the new USB-C on all new MacBooks.
The BreakSafe Magnetic USB Type C Cable is designed to reintroduce these essential safety features once more with its patent-pending quick-release magnetic connector. The magnetic connector itself measures about 12 mm, so this piece can always remain attached to the computer without being an inconvenience.
