Bootstrap Compost is a social business operating a year-round kitchen scrap pickup service in Greater Boston and promoting eco-friendly living. Operating on membership, Bootstrap Compost will transport compostable materials from anywhere in the Greater Boston area and offers each of its members a portion of the super rich compost 10-15 weeks after their first donation to the Bootstrap Compost bank.
Additionally, Bootstrap Compost donates the finished compost to urban gardens in Roxbury and Jamaica Plain. Founded in 2011, the service costs $8 and is guided by its mission to both give back to the community and providing an outlet for Boston residents to harness the power of compost.
