Japanese-Inspired Weaved Floors

Bolon by Patricia Urquiola is a Flooring Collection Bases on Craft

Swedish flooring brand Bolon launched a new range of flooring titled Bolon by Patricia Urquiola. Patricia Urquiola is the collection's main designer. The collection combines Japanese styles with Bolon's proprietary weaving techniques, drawing on craftsmanship and materiality associated with traditional Sashiko stitching.

The decision to incorporate Japanese stitching tradition into the collection came after the design team's detailed textile research. "When we started to work on this collection, we wanted to give the flooring a more authentic feel," explained Urquiola. Available in four muted colors - grey, beige with blue details, clay-colored pink, and green - the range creates a cozy and warm feel ideal for residential buildings and commercial spaces. Additionally, the flooring is made from a mixture of recycled and new materials.
