Chanel's Elegant Gold Boater Har is Made with Pineapple Fibers & Felt

As part of its 2019 collection, French fashion label Chanel introduced a stylish gold Boater hat made with pineapple leather. This incorporation of plant-based materials from the luxury label reflects the fact that it is no longer using fur or exotic skins and is exploring other innovative materials. According to Bruno Pavlovsky, president of Chanel fashion and president of Chanel SAS, "The future of high-end products will come from the know-how of what our atelier is able to do."

The leather-free Boater hat is made from a mix of pineapple fibers and felt, and is also offered in other material combinations and different colorways.
