The Blue Velo Hornet is an odd-looking capsule bicycle that runs both on foot-peddling power and a small motor for that extra push when necessary.

Velomobiles are gaining popularity due to their speed on downhill or flat terrain and their hard-shell exterior, which offers more protection from the elements and passing cars than traditional cycles.

Where the newest cycle from the velomobile production company differs is with the addition of a 350-watt MegaMotion hub motor. This propels the pod to a speed of 20mph, without adding any extra foot-power, which is useful for steep, uphill inclines that are difficult for many velomobiles to muster due to their weight.

The bikes can also be outfitted with turning signals, front and back lighting and a 26" back wheel.
