Dotwork Wine Label Designs

Hoot Design Studio’s Bleeding Rose Label Is Hand-Illustrated

Hoot Design Studio introduced a hand-illustrated wine label called Bleeding Rose, featuring dotwork pen-and-ink illustration with a digitally layered color wash. The artwork was first sketched in pencil, inked using stippling techniques, then scanned and finished in Photoshop, with a vivid red added to depict dripping blood.

The label was created by illustrator Jen Borror and was presented as a custom packaging concept for a red wine, combining traditional illustration with modern digital coloring. Its design balances romantic and sultry motifs through detailed dot shading and stark ink lines, giving the bottle a tactile, artisanal appearance.

For consumers, Bleeding Rose signals a move toward craft-driven, story-led wine packaging that elevates shelf impact and perceived quality while highlighting handcrafted illustration as a premium differentiator.
