Dubbed ‘Mura,’ these small black tables made their debut at Design Week Mexico. The pieces are produced by Bandido Studio which focuses on aesthetic and historic crafts techniques to produce something that is sophisticated and interesting.
The products boast a circular smoked-glass top and a tear droplet-shaped base made from marble. The silhouette of the small black tables is informed by the “craft history of a nearby town Tecali de Herrera” which is characterized “by the artisanal work on marble and volcanic rocks.” Its curious shape allows it to easily and stylishly integrate itself in the contemporary environment.
The ‘Mura’ is the result of a collaboration between the Puebla City-based Bandido Studio and the workshop ‘Meza’ which has generational experience in the handling of marble.
