Game Science Studio is Releasing Another Chinese Mythos Game

Black Myth: Zhong Kui was unveiled during Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live on August 19, 2025, as the next project from Game Science Studio. The announcement consisted of a cinematic teaser highlighting detailed environments and character design without providing a release date, reflecting that the title remains in early development. According to the developer’s FAQ, the game is planned for release on PC and all mainstream console platforms once complete.

Following the single-player ARPG framework established by Black Myth: Wukong, Zhong Kui will draw heavily on Chinese mythology, centering on the legendary demon queller Zhong Kui and his supernatural battles. The project is confirmed to follow the same business model as its predecessor, though no further details on gameplay mechanics, progression systems, or monetization strategies have been disclosed to date.
